HLTV.org is live from Brooklyn, New York, where ESL One New York is about to kick off with best-of-three opening matches.
The two group A opening matches, G2 vs. ENCE and Liquid vs. eUnited, mark the start of this year's edition of ESL One New York, the fourth of its kind, while the Group B openers will come soon thereafter, featuring FaZe vs. Evil Geniuses and Astralis vs. OpTic.
The $200,000 event will use the same format as IEM Chicago, where two best-of-three GSL groups lead to a single-elimination bracket with best-of-three semifinals and a best-of-five final.
This year's show match, which is scheduled to take place on Sunday before the grand final, will provide an extra attraction for fans all over as it will be the unveiling of the Cache rework, a map that has been out of competitive play since the introduction of Vertigo in late March.
A two-man crew will be bringing the action live from Brooklyn, staff writer Lucas Aznar Miles and photographer Radoslaw "MAKKU" Makuch, with interviews and photographs from the happenings at this year's ESL One New York.
To get up to speed with some of the movement prior to the event read Milan "Striker" Svejda's five key storylines and Zvonimir "Professeur" Burazin's story about Helvijs "broky" Saukants, the Latvian youngster who will be playing the next few LAN tournaments on trial with FaZe starting here in New York.
